Jeffrey Stephen Wash was born to Leeann Troupe, a human, and Elliot Wash, a werewolf, as the result of a short lived fling. As is the nature of many werewolves, Elliot left to travel on his own, leaving mother and son. Leeann was unaware of Elliot's lycanthropy at the time of Jeff's birth, not knowing that he had passed this trait to his son until he reached the age of 14. Along with other changes Jeff's body was experiencing at the time, his own lycanthropy manifested during a full moon in July. He tore out of the house, revealing exactly what he was to his mother who frantically tried to piece together how to best handle the situation. The solution eventually agreed upon was to clear and secure the basement, ushering Jeff inside and keeping him there until the morning - a practice he still keeps in place for himself to this day.

While knowing that the practice was necessary, Jeff is resentful of relegating himself to the basement like an animal. As a result, he made it his goal to never be a lone wolf. Rather than wandering in rural areas he chose to settle in a city working as a middle school gym teacher (high school Driver's Ed in the summer!) with the goal of making friends and becoming the life of the party. Jeff loves to talk and make jokes, if only because it reminds him of his humanity.
